What are They Going to Do?

In this article I am going to list things that some politicians are going to do.

New York Mayor Bloomberg said his is going to fight for the controlling power and change NYC’s employee pension system. He notices that every New Yorker has to pay about $2500 annually for New York City’s pension benefit. A family with four people have to pay $ 10,000 to the people who have retired from their City jobs. Ten years ago such expenses for NYC was1.5 billion dollars. Today the amount go up to 7 billion dollars. Bloomberg’s plan is against by Union people.City’s police and fire unions withdrew their support for him in 8th, Feb 2011. Blomberg’s term will be finished anyway. However the NYC controller Mr Liu who will be the candidate of NYC mayor in the coming election is standing on the side of union people. This is how election controll our politicians.

New York State governor Andy Cuomo will not increase tax but cutting expenses to run the state budget. He has deducted 5% of his own salary, $9,000. He is going to revamp the Medicaid system and education funding. He will close or consolidate some departments and make some lay off. When he struggles so hard to balance his budget some people in the high positions getting salary increased up to $20,000. He
was shocked and is going to stop them.

Government of Arizona ignores Federal’s rule and stop paying medical bill for low income families. It is said even though they controlled their payments in 2010 their medical expense was still increased 50% up. Many States are going to do the same thing for their budget gap combines in 2011 can reach 140 billion dollars. When states default Federal government might not give a hand for they have no reason to pay what ever the state spent. It happened in1841 some states defaulted and got no help from Federal. They had to increase their real estate tax for eight times. Today the total debt our States have reached two trillion dollars and it seems our Federal government will be unable to provide helps. That means we have at least 30 Greece in the United States. States are going to do something like what Arizona do but I am afraid it is too late.

California will give accept bids for their high speed rail project which costs about $100 billion dollars. Investment for the first stage is 45 billion dollars and it can create about 1500 jobs. It is interesting that as the poorest state in the Unite State California is the first state that full fill Obama’s dream of building high speed rail.

House Majority Leader Eric Canto said his fellow Republicans would not vote to increase the federal debt limit unless it was coupled with spending cuts and reforms. They try to bring spending levels down to 08 level but didn’t make any actual proposals. They just put some words there. If anything happens it will be all Obama’s fault. They cannot wait to see how Obama react when the market is collapse.

By the end of March 2011 Federal debt will reach $14.294 trillion. Obama administration warning that failing to increase the borrowing limit would cause the federal government to default on its debt obligation. The disaster it creates will be not less than the financial crisis in 2008. Obama’s team believes that Republicans dare not let the collapse happen. They thus don’t really care what words that Republicans put down. It is obviously that making reforms needs time but nothing was being discussed today, two month before debt over the limit. It looks like those lawmakers are doing nothing but playing games by throwing balls to each other.

In the State of the Union address, Obama simply proposed a five-year freeze on some government spending. Freezing spending means he is going to do nothing. His new investment will be in research and education that was our government did sixty years ago. It is shame that he used “change” as a slogan to win his position but not make a bit of change after that.

Government’s investing is so important at this critical moment. Obama doesn’t care about what kind of jobs are shot in this country. A lazy way is to invest in clean energy research and education fields that we always need. He forgets that his goal is to create jobs. If money was spent and jobs were not created he will still be unforgivable. It is obvious that most unemployed people are blue collar workers and they cannot fill in positions for teacher or scientists’ positions? Provide quality education for our youth sounds good. However if our students have no jobs after finishing schools what is the point to provide them education. Obama is doing nothing for creating jobs and he did nothing to cut budget as well. All he did is to make empty talks.
