ICC’s Arrest Warrants and its consequence

On June 27, 2011 the International Criminal Court issued international arrest warrants for Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi, his son Saif al-Islam Qaddafi, and intelligence chief Abdullah Senussi, charging them with crimes against humanity. The ICC warrant said that the above three people are responsible for ‘killing, injuring, and imprisoning hundreds of civilians” between Feb 18 and Feb 28.

The chief prosecutor of ICC is Luis Moreno-Ocampo. We don’t know how this guy got the position. We just knew that one week before he issed the warrant, he announced in front of the whole world about Qaddafi giving drugs to his troops and making them raped rebel’s women. The report of cause was handed in by Libya rebels but was proved as lie by the UN human right organization one week later. Investigators found no victims and no hospital records relate to that crime.

The same irresponsible guy Luis Moreno-Ocampo issued ICC arrest warrants without attaching the number of dead in Libya’s uprising in Feb. As what we see during Arab spring deaths in other country, such as Yemen and Syria were much more then in Libya. Also deaths in NATO’s airplane strike were also more than people died from Feb 18 to Feb 28. Why the warrants just against Qaddfi but not anybody else.

During this time the president of South Africa reminded UN that their responsible is to protect civilian but not overthrow a government. It should represent Africa countries’ opinions. That means we should let Libyans decide if there are crimes against humanity in Libya and who should be the leader of their government. In the whole process NATO made no effort to arrange elections. Rebels refuse stop fighting and as a result civilians continually dying in Libya. Many people believe that rebels knowing they are not being supported by the majority in Libyans and there for they don’t want to get the power through a peaceful election. Yet rebels are considered the only humanity in Libya by UN. They were supported by those so call democracy countries as well.

The consequence of such an ICC warrants can harm Libya seriously. It gives NATO an reason to target Qaddafi. It gives Libya rebels a strong excuse to reject negotiation. Rebels announded right a way about they have no reason to negotiate with a criminal. Being prosecuted and having nowhere to go, Qaddafi will resist to the last minute and he believes he is fighting for Libyans. That means the door for peaceful elections in Libya was closed. A civil war will deftly start in Libya till to the time that we don’t know. White House hailed for the warrant because it came in time for Obama. Just two days before the warrant was issued Obama was accused for bombing Libya without the approving from Congress………

In the last ten years Americans have created two civil wars in the other countries that killed over two hundred thousand people. Expense they spent including interest and compansation payments for the wounds in the future cost close to 4 trillion dollars.Today they still don’t know how to withdraw from the wars without leaving fights behind. On June 27, 2011 an 8- year- old Afghan girl was forced to be a body bomb that killed 4 NATO troops. This is how the cruel of civil wars were and U.S doesn’t mind to make more of those wars. If United States negotiated with Taliban 10 years ago, things will never happen so ugly.

Before ending the wars in Iraq and Afghan Obama created another civil war. He made decision without hesitation because he believes that Americans can do anything set in their mind to. In reality, we cannot even overcome Taliban, a small group in a small country. We have to get into touch with Taliban before withdrawing from Afghan. We think we are the winners by killing bin Laden and we don’t even know the price we have to pay for that in the future. The price could be as higher as what we lost in the fire that destroyed Arizona, Taxes and New Mexico in June 2011.
