Seven Trillion People

Saturday, January 15th, 2011

In 2011 population on the Earth will reach 7 trillion. Things happen one and a half year earlier than what The Unite State Census Bureau predicted. That means the populations of this world are increasing faster than we expect. It has been increased 75% within 36 years comparing with 4 trillion people in 1974.

The increasing populations require more jobs, more resources and more welfare. Its impacts to our society are tremendously. Unfortunately we hardly see our economists concern such a significant changes. A one hundred years old consumption theory is still guiding our economists and messing up our world. Acting like scientists they use an unchanged formula to deal with a changing world. For respecting human right we considered abortion is illegal. We attack one child policy that is performed in China. Some religions powers disallowed birth control.

Now we have seven trillion people waiting to be feed. Having the 75% in mind we should feel lucky that our unemployment rate is below 10%. In some countries of Europe the unemployment rate has reached almost 20%. In January 2011 a universe student burned himself to die in Tunisia. He protested policemen for they humiliating him when he had not job and sold vegetable in the street. His dead cause a big riot and result in a few dozen people died in the city. This story can happen in anyplace if people without jobs and cannot survive. A pirate from Somalia told the Western correspondent that they can not survive by catching fish. This world has spent huge money to fight with ships being kipnaped . The Pirate said actually 10% of those fund can solve their employment problem and nobody care about it.

Unemployment problem become serious today is not because the differenct of currency rate but because the increasing population on the Earth. There are 60% people in this world live in Asian who work hard and willing to get low paid. Free trade allows them to challenge Western’s job market. We believe we suppose to live in a better standars and we need high pay to cover it or we will make no productions. This kind of requirements put us in debt. We have no job and no money now. We should not care about consumption and GNP anymore. What we should worry is how to live well without a full time job or good pay job.

We need to find out a way to support seven trillion people without consume too much resources on earth. Developing agriculture is the best way we should do.There are a lot of people live in poverty today. One year after earthquake, there are still over one million people living in the streets of Heidi. In 2011 this world will short of grain seriously because Russia had fire, Canada and Australia had floods , South America was too dry and China was too cold. In the end of 2010 when the international rice price is $535 per ton price of rice in China had reached $1,200 per ton. Such a price range is higher than 2008 when 37 countries had riot to protect the high rice price. At that time people said,” we have no jobs, we have no future and now we have no food. We have to be violent for that is the only language our government know.”

All these years free economic theroy belives that if our market has enough freedom it can adjust itself automactically and run the economic into a right track such as provide jobs to us. This theory might work when this world had only one trillion population. It should be another story when this world has 7 trillion people. Governments from different countries should directly arrange and instruct people to produce food and shelters. High consumption and high GDP might create jobs. However, the process is too long and uncertain. Before creating jobs capitalists need to make profit. They will not reinvest every dollar they made in the market. The job positions they provide will be not enough and their payroll will be unable to maintain the high quality lives we expect.

This world is short of resource and jobs. If 7 trillion people living in the stander of industry country and consuming thing like American did resource on the Earth has to be increased 5 times. Seeking for profit in the process of industralizing is no longer practical. We need to go back to the agriculture society in some way and make living on planting. Giving up the concept of profit and directly get food and shelters from our land is the only way to feed seven trillion people. Our ancestors made living on our land in the last few thousand years. Our live will be better than them for we can have entertainment from T.V, internet and parties today.

feeding 7 trillion people is no longer easy for us. some people get profit might result in more people have no food. How to maintain decent live for mankind without consuming too much resources is the number one problem that we have to solve today. Keep one thing in mind that our Earth has to support seven trillion people but not one trillion people.

What Kind of Leaders Do We Need?

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

In the beginning of Jan, 2011, three biggest Moto companies in the United States had a car show in Cobo Center Detroit. that is after GM and Chrysler filed bankruptcy and reorganized their business. Ford was the only company that recovered on its own and refused government’s assistance. They let government’s funding went to their components. Now all the America Moto companies pass through the tough time and have their business increased over 10%.

This is a happy ending. However, business reorganizing by filing bankruptcy is not fair for the share holders. Share holder‘s benefit is not being protected well in our system. GM and Chrysler are making profit after reorganizing and their ex- share holders get no benefit from that. Our big companies use share holder’s money to pay high salaries and high pension. When huge debt are accumulated those CEO simply cleared their hands and said game was over. They can easily get rid of their responsibility by filing bankruptcy. They use the same utilities, same business name and same market to make money meanwhile. The company is still there. They just wiped off the debt without paying any payment.

How can Ford avoided bankruptcy and even didn’t need government’s funding? It is said Ford’s CEO Alan Mulally is the key person who made the recover. He told senator, Steny H Hoyer, why he supported his opponents at that critical time. He said that if he had to make a choice again he would do the same thing because that is good for America’s industry and economic. I don’t know the exact strategy he applied to save his company. At least I see one thing — they researched new products that could save 30% oil.

Alan Mulally is smart, passionate and unselfish, a leader we need in this country. We need someone who has business experience and can practically lead this country passing through the economic crisis. I hardly care about what politicians said because I knew what they were going to say: decreasing tax, increasing education fee …. They never tell us what is the magic? How can they cut income and raise expenses the same time?

I hardly care about Tea Party’s slogans. Occasionally I heard people accused Pailin’s opinion and connected that to the massacre in Arizona. It is said she used a map with crosshairs to identify House members who supported Obama’s health care law. She used the words of Lock n’Load and reload to inflame people’s anger. She used a danger strategy to full fill her political dream. I agree that House members who support Obama’s health care law are not intelligent. However, no matter what those people not deserved to be nailed.

The political attacking Palin created help us nothing. She did that because she has no good ideas to help this country but wants to get the positions in our government. It seems people in our government tend to forget their final goal. They think all they have to do is creating arguments and fightings in the congress. They think they deserve their salary pay when they can kill their time by discussing something. Sitting in the president chair just like sitting in a music chair for them.We had Bush who represented some dangers groups. We than have Obama who does things without considering the consequences. It will be the end of this country if we have our presdent tell us to reload bullets. In some way Obama and Palin are the same, they simply know how to use people’s passion and anger.

Overthrowing a bad government leader is not enough. We should know clearly what kind of leaders do we actually need. We need someone like Alan Mulall. Usually smart, rich and unselfish business men don’t like to be a president particular when they have to spend huge money for the election. They can use their talent to make money for themselves. If that is the case our president should at least get advices from them but not from those beside teaching in schools and do nothing in their lives such as Larry Summers. This country needs some smart business people come out to do something. If we can select people like Alan Mulall as our president and without cost too much election fee American get hope. Otherwise, we go nowhere. What I mean the freedom that we have in our president election helps us go nowhere.

A Boeing 727 Crashed in Iran

Wednesday, January 12th, 2011

In Jan, 09, 2011, a Boeing 727 from The Iran Air crashed in north-western Iran. Seventy seven people out of 106 passengers on broad were killed and eight of the injureds were in critical condition. The air plane crashed in bad weather while landing. That is second hand Boeing purchased a few decades ago. It is said because the international sanction Iran has diffictulty to find parts to maintain their airplanes all these years.

If what it said was truth this is a real tragedy – a tragedy caused by tragedy. I always believe that sanction could not solve any problem but create hateful. America is very powerful. We are not only imposing sanction to Iran we convince the whole world to do so. If a commercial Boeing is in the list of sanction that means we are not only imposing sanction for military material we prohibiting the trading of daily merchandise as well. That means we are not only punishing the Iran government we make all the people, include women and children, suffer there.

What is the point of doing that? We might hope when Iranian cannot stand the sanction they will overthrow their government. In this case things will not happen as what we expect. Only in a peaceful environment people will reevaluate the mistakes that their government did. They will strongly support their government when their country is being threated or attacked. They will act like a ball fill with air — the harder you hit the ball the higher the ball rebound. Only make a hole in the ball and release the air we can stop the rebounding of the ball. That is a common sense and we don’t have it.

How to Practice Democracy in China

Monday, January 3rd, 2011

Two days ago, I listed thing that the Chinese Government did for its people in the last two years. That doesn’t mean I agreed with everything they did. I understand why the Chinese boycott Nobel Prize Commit doesn’t mean that I will do the same things if I was in their position.

China needs democracy more than any other countries because corruption is serious there. In the 50s’ of last century China adopted Marxism which claimed that working people were the masters of a country. In those days Government owned all the businesses that actually made no profit. Salaries people got from the county were about the same. Since everybody lived in poor lives people take it made except felt tired about classes struggles.

In the last thirty years China starts to allow private companies run business in China. Instead of overthrowing capitalists they let some people get rich first. The problem is who should get rich first and how did they get rich?

According to the statistic performed by BCG from Boston in China 0.2% of families, about 670 thousand households, have assets of one million U.S dollars and up. Basically the Chinese not hate the people who are sucess on running business and making investment. However, no one can stand people who got rich by corrupting yet being protected by their privilege in the government. People from so called revolution families sold government’s lands and got paid under the table. They exchanged government’s projects for commission from constructors. People who have no revolution backgrounds buy government’s positions and run away after stealing enough money.

What determines a person to become a government leader and how to how to monitor those leaders’ behaviors become a serious problem in China. In 2010 a trafic accident caused a big attention in China. A guy hit two passengers to die and didn’t When he came back from picking up his girl friend he passed by the place again. He complained that his car was scrach in the accident. He told people didn’t touch him for his father is Li Gang, a head in the policement office of the city. Another news disclosed that a car drove by a man from a local government leader’s family hit a lady in the stree. Instead of appologizing the man beat the lady good and said:” I could kill you. I have enough money to pay the compansation.” The laddy’s daughter jump on the car and didn’t let it moved. A few thousand people surrounded there and smashed the car. It almost created a riot.

Apprently it is people who have previlige and corrupt create unstablity in China. We have to clean them out of the government — take their aseets away and put them in jails. We can let the passionate youth to do the jobs. Enrollining government officers by giving out tests is a good start. A news reported that one saleswoman became an important city’s leader of an economic department simply because in the test she efficiently solve tought problems in real life. It also said, some youths who work in the government disclose corruption in a website and create big attention in China in these days.

It is luck that by law corruption is illegal in China. That makes the evil powers can only hide in the government yet their resistances are desperate and powerful. They protect each other and in spite of killing witness to save themselves. Central government against corruption but is not efficiency enough. That is why people such as Liu Xiao Bo and youth in Tien An Men Square made protesting. We should use these people instead of jailing them.

If I was a Chinese leader, I will let people talk but not allow them to take actions. Basing on the information publics provide we will prosecute corrupted criminals in the government. Government can set up a commit that reports to the central government directly and has passionate professional people work for that. Being back up by one billion people we will be able to clean garbage in the government easily and release public’s anger meanwhile. It should not be difficult to carry policies that reflect one billion people’s wish.

We should not afraid of letting people talk and should not worry for being attack by our enemies. From 1950 to 1980s for thirty years the Chinese Communist Party set up five kinds of enemies and created class struggles with them. That gave China no progress but poverty. After Mao died, they released the enemies in overnight. We saw no threats from enemies at all and have economic prosperous for thirty years. When people see what a government actually do for them they will assist you to improve things but not overthrew you. Or if you set up a good election system being overthrew is not the end of your life. You can take a break, reevaluate thing and get the power back in the next election.

It is luck that some leaders in the Chinese Central government realize the important of practicing democracy. Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jia Bao promised in CNN channel that he would reform Chinese political system till he die. That die means die naturally (when he get old). It also means he is preparing to scarify his life for fighting is fierce there. It is said his trips in the Unit States and Europe were not fully reported in China because his statements were not accepted by all the powers.
On whole, because we are back up by 1.2 billion people we will be able to find an appropriate way to practice democracy in China and maintain stabilities meanwhile. Giving democracy right to 1.2 billion people is a big dedication to the world. Any leader who achieves this will be appreciated by the Chinese forever.

Nobel Peace Prizes

Saturday, January 1st, 2011

In my last article, the efficiency of a government, I list a lot of good things that the Chinese government did for its people. It looks like I am a speaker for them and I have to clarify my standing here.

What I mean is that there is never a government that did so many things for so many people in such a short period of time. They are moving in the right direction. We should give them credit but not embarrass them or overthrow them. It is luck that 1.2 billion people on the globe are ruled by a government that basically works for people and functions efficiently. I believe a government like that will not threaten the peace of the world because they focus on improving people’s live.

I also conveyed the opinion in that article, a government that let people say something but does nothing for its people is not better than a government that does something but does not allow people to talk too much. U.S government is facing a serious challenge for the financial situation they encounter. Our free economic system does not function well. It is time to reevaluate our system that once was considered the best system. If we don’t make changes efficiently we will create big trouble for our world. Printing dollars is just like launching a way to destroy this world.

Just becuase I listed things that the Chinese government did, doesn’t mean that I ignore their problems. I just notice that they are improving. In their internet we can see tons of comments that openly attack government people from different levels. In 2010 their prime minister Wen Jia Bao promised in front of the whole world that they will reform their political system. I feel sorry that right after he made that sincere statement, Nobel Prize Committee launched an attack through its decision for the Nobel Peace Prize.

It is true that the Chinese don’t have freedom that the Western people have. China is not a democratic country because its government leaders are not selected by the people but recommend by someone. If the Chinese are lucky they can have a government that cares about people’s benefit. Since they don’t have laws and channels to monitor cadres from different levels corruption is serious. Chinese government did try to clean up criminals inside their party. However since the conflicts and anger that their cadres created are too big, the leadership is afraid of being criticized openly. The thing they worry the most about is people contacting each other to do something. That is why they nock down Falun Gong people and jailed Liu Xiao Po when he asked people to sign ia petition.

I understand the Chinese government’s worry: They believe a country that has 1.2 billion people needs stability more than anything else. If they let Liu Xiao Po and youth from Tian An Men ( 4th June, 1988) do whatever they demanded there will be riots but not peace. I don’t think that Nobel Peace Prizes were given to Liu Xiao Bo and the Dalai Lama (religious leader) were appropriate decisions. I don’t see that they did anything for maintaining peace but only see that they attacked the Chinese government. Dali-lama claims his people were free, but he controlled their religious thinking. His government had weak functions and his people lived in poverty, yet he got the Nobel Peace Price form the Nobel committee. Gore and Obama did nothing for maintaining peace and they got Nobel Peace Prize as well. The Chinese government improves Tibetan’s live tremendously and the Nobel committee ignored that.
The Nobel Peace Prize Committee might be well meaning but their logic is too simple. They don’t see things from a histoical changing perspective and ignore what happens in real life. They simply carry their faith all the way down and this is a mistake that people from the academic world usually make. As I mentioned before scholars believe democracy and freedom are a priority over peace; they defend a one hundred year old consumption theory; they believe high GDP is important for mankind even though resources in the world could not support that kind of consumption; they defend theories of Newton, Einstein and Big Bang and ignore facts exist in the physical world.

This is the picture: Nobel Prize Committee has money to give out as a reward and they carry a ruler to measure here and there. The Chinese united some countries to boycott Nobel Peace Prize and let the reward go to an empty chair. They even set up their Kong Fu Zi reward and gave that to Guo Ming Party’s former leader Nian Zhan who created a peaceful relationship between China and Taiwan. At the ceremony, a girl represented Nian Zhan to receive the reward. The whole thing looks like a game. When a reward is so grand for some people it is like a joke for other people. We are being entertained in the whole process. My conclusion is: they both have good wishes – one party like peace and the other party want stablelity.
